Miriam Laeky is the Board Secretary of We Got This TX. She is a first-generation Ethiopian/Eritrean-American from Allen, TX. She is a committed advocate working to ensure that our communities not only have seats at the table, but also a voice. She is currently taking time off from her studies at Baylor University in Waco, TX to continue her professional development in Texas politics. 

Miriam has worked on numerous campaigns and civic programs, most recently for the Democratic Party of Georgia during the Senate run-off election this winter. Miriam aims to inspire other young, first-generation, women of color to blaze their own political journey ambitiously and audaciously in the state of Texas. She currently works as Operations Director for the Texas House Democratic Caucus in the Texas House of Representatives, this is her second session serving in the House.
